Why Sherford came to be

Plymouth and the South Hams are short of housing particularly affordable housing. In 2003, Devon County Council identified the Sherford Valley on the eastern outskirts of Plymouth as a viable location for new housing, but from the outset, they ruled out urban sprawl as unsustainable.
